Walt Disney sudah tidak diragukan lagi memiliki formula rahasia untuk memproduksi film animasi keluarga yang tetap meninggalkan kesan sepanjang masa dan menghibur. Jalan cerita yang menyentuh karena ditulis dengan sepenuh hati kemudian digabungkan dengan musik hebat, pada dasarnya adalah formula rahasianya agar Walt Disney mampu meraih kesuksesan di dunia perfilman animasi.
Musik dan lagu dari Walt Disney adalah sesuatu hal yang penulis rasa, mayoritas orang menikmati ketika mendengarkannya. "Learn Me Right" adalah lagu pertama dari Walt Disney-Pixar yang disebutkan dalam daftar rekomen playlist penulis untuk kalian. Lagu tersebut dinyanyikan oleh Birdy and Mumford & Sons. Kemunculannya di film animasi Brave (2012) saat bagian Ending Credits. Mungkin karena ditempatkan saat Ending Credits Brave membuat banyak orang missed untuk tahu dan mendengarkan "Learn Me Right", tidak seperti semua lagu di atas yang dijadikan BGM satu adegan dalam masing-masing film sehingga membekas di ingatan penonton cukup lama. Almarhum Jerry Orbach yang bermain peran sebagai Lumière menarik atensi penonton film animasi Beauty and the Beast dengan aksen Prancis anehnya. Keanehan aksen Prancisnya justru membuat lagu "Be Our Guest" dicintai banyak orang dan sangat berkesan sehingga ketika Ewan McGregor terpilih untuk memainkan Lumière versi Beauty and the Beast (2017), banyak orang (termasuk penulis) menyangsikan pilihan Walt Disney tersebut apalagi kita semua tahu karakter Lumière memiliki satu lagu utuh yang harus dinyanyikannya.
Akan tetapi, kesangsian di benak penulis sirna ketika menonton langsung Beauty and the Beast (2017). 12. Strangers Like Me
Lagu yang dinyanyikan dan ditulis oleh Phil Collins ini merupakan lagu yang cukup menarik karena tidak ada satu pun karakter dalam film animasi Tarzan (1999) yang menyanyikannya sehingga ketika lagu ini mengalun di film animasinya, seolah-olah Phil Collins menjadi storyteller atas motivasi terdalam Tarzan (dan Jane) untuk saling mengenal dunia yang berlainan (milik Tarzan dan Jane). Kalian yang telah berkesempatan menonton film animasi Coco (2017) ciptaan studio Disney-Pixar, pasti sudah menjatuhkan air mata ketika terungkap kebenaran di balik penciptaan dan pemilikan lagu signature film animasi tersebut yaitu "Remember Me".
"Remember Me" adalah lagu yang memiliki versi berbeda seperti, versi lulabi yang dinyanyikan oleh karakter Héctor (CV: Gael GarcÃa Bernal) untuk putrinya yang bernama Coco. Versi pop yang meriah untuk pementasan karakter Ernesto de la Cruz (CV: Benjamin Bratt). Versi berupa duet yang mengalun di bagian end credits oleh penyanyi Miguel dan Natalia Lafourcade. Karakter utama Coco yaitu Miguel Rivera (CV: Anthony Gonzalez) menyanyikan sedikit potongan lirik "Remember Me" untuk membantu Coco ingat kepada ayahnya sebagai satu-satunya anggota keluarga Rivera yang mengenal dan mengingat baik sosok Héctor yang sedang di ambang oblivion.

9. Heaven's Light / Hellfire
Kalian mau tahu lagu tergelap dan tereksplisit dalam film animasi The Hunchback of Notre Dame, bahkan mungkin dalam sejarah Walt Disney berdiri? Jawabannya adalah "Heaven's Light / Hellfire" (lebih spesifiknya, bagian Hellfire). Silakan dengar lagunya dan lihat sendiri liriknya di bawah:
"Heaven's Light / Hellfire" menjadi lagu terbaik Walt Disney sepanjang masa versi penulis karena pesan yang disampaikan dari dua karakter yang menyanyikannya yaitu Quasimodo (CV: Tom Hulce) dan Claude Frollo (CV: Tony Jay), brillian!
Menurut penulis, Quasimodo tidak sungguh-sungguh jatuh cinta kepada Esmeralda. Dia melihat Esmeralda lebih sebagai pengagum atas kebaikan yang ditunjukkan kepadanya. Kemudian, Frollo juga tidak sungguhan cinta kepada Esemeralda. Perasaan yang dirasakannya lebih ke arah hawa nafsu. Neither characters are in love with Esmeralda.
Lirik karakter Quasimodo yang penuh kasih sayang yaitu "Heaven's Light" yang berisi kepolosan naif dan curahan harapan yang baru datang kepadanya dilawan dengan lirik karakter Frollo yaitu "Hellfire" yang berisi rasa putus asa yang baru menjalar akal dan hatinya plus sinisme dan kemurkaan.
Quasimodo dan Frollo merupakan lawan sempurna untuk satu sama lain dan mereka menunjukkan obsesi mereka kepada Esmeralda dengan cara yang saling berlawanan. Quasimodo melakukan hal baik dan berupaya untuk membantu Esmeralda sambil menjaga kesakralan gereja. Di sisi lain, Frollo melakukan hal buruk dan kulminansi perbuatan kejamnya adalah menodai kesakralan Notre Dame.
Jadi, kesimpulan "Heaven's Light / Hellfire" adalah orang kasta rendah versus orang kasta tinggi, orang sederhana versus orang angkuh, Surga versus Neraka, cinta versus hawa nafsu berahi. Semua perbedaan ini di dalam lagunya sangat fantastis!

Sedang mencari lagu untuk melakukan PDKT dengan gebetan dan menjadikannya panutan untuk meraih relationship goals? "A Whole New World" dari film animasi Aladdin (1992) adalah jawaban yang tepat!
Karakter Aladdin mengerahkan semua tenaga yang dimiliki untuk memenangkan hati Jasmine. Puncak PDKT Aladdin adalah ketika dia mengajak Jasmine untuk berjalan-jalan malam dengan karpet ajaib. Perjalanan malam ini memberi Jasmine banyak perspektif baru terhadap dunia.

"God Help the Outcasts" merupakan lagu favorit kedua di dalam film animasi The Hunchback of Notre Dame, tepat di bawah lagu "Heaven's Light / Hellfire". Lagu ini memiliki pesan kuat yang mampu mengetuk hati banyak masyarakat di zaman sekarang.
Esmeralda adalah seorang Gypsy. Kaum Gypsy selalu mendapatkan penindasan dari otoritas kota Paris karena stigma yang melekat pada diri kaum tersebut (berdasarkan setting film animasi). Kaum Gypsy dikenal akan sihir hitam yang terlarang, perusak tatanan kemasyarakatan karena pemberontak, tuna wisma, dan suka merampas barang. Padahal sebenarnya, kaum Gypsy tidak seperti stigma yang keras digaungkan oleh otoritas.
Esmeralda menyanyikan bait lirik per liriknya dengan syahdu. Dia mengingatkan kita bahwa tidak hanya Tuhan yang harus membantu kaum atau orang yang diusir dari masyarakat (outcast). Almarhum Jerry Orbach yang bermain peran sebagai Lumière menarik atensi penonton film animasi Beauty and the Beast dengan aksen Prancis anehnya. Keanehan aksen Prancisnya justru membuat lagu "Be Our Guest" dicintai banyak orang dan sangat berkesan sehingga ketika Ewan McGregor terpilih untuk memainkan Lumière versi Beauty and the Beast (2017), banyak orang (termasuk penulis) menyangsikan pilihan Walt Disney tersebut apalagi kita semua tahu karakter Lumière memiliki satu lagu utuh yang harus dinyanyikannya.
Akan tetapi, kesangsian di benak penulis sirna ketika menonton langsung Beauty and the Beast (2017). Lagu "I'll Make a Man Out of You" menampilkan perkembangan karakter Ping (Mulan nama aslinya) untuk menjadi prajurit yang tidak lagi diremehkan sesama prajurit dan Shang. Ping membuktikan diri bahwa perempuan bisa melakukan apapun yang biasanya dilakukan laki-laki dan terkadang, menyelesaikannya dengan lebih baik! Melihat perkembangan Ping yang diiringi dengan "I'll Make a Man Out of You" sungguh hal yang menggembirakan di film animasi Mulan.
Penulis harus berkata bahwa "I'll Make a Man Out of You" yang dibawakan oleh Danny Osmond merupakan lagu paling macho di Mulan (atau bahkan kesuluruhan film Disney?). Penulis mendengarkan kembali lagu OST film animasi Lion King karena dua hal. Pertama, menyiapkan diri untuk nonton versi adaptasi live action-nya. Kedua, menulis artikel ini. Walaupun lagu "Circle of Life" memang lagu tergolong tua (karena sudah ada dari 1994), perasaan pada diri penulis ketika mendengarkan lagu ini masih tetap sama yaitu berlinang air mata karena kembali ke masa kecil. "Remember Me" adalah lagu yang memiliki versi berbeda seperti, versi lulabi yang dinyanyikan oleh karakter Héctor (CV: Gael GarcÃa Bernal) untuk putrinya yang bernama Coco. Jujur saja, penulis pernah meragukan pilihan Walt Disney untuk melibatkan Emma, terutama untuk menyanyikan "Beauty and the Beast" karena penulis sangat mencintai "Beauty and the Beast" di film animasi. Perasaan ragu tersebut berubah menjadi kebahagiaan karena versi yang dinyanyikan Emma cocok untuk tahun 2017. Melihat adegan dansa Belle dan The Beast diperankan manusia sungguhan, sungguh membuat penulis terhanyut dalam tiap gerakannya karena seolah-olah kepingan ingatan masa kecil kembali berputar di depan mata.
"Beauty and the Beast" versi pop di tahun 1991 dinyanyikan oleh Peabo dan Celine. Untuk tahun 2017, Walt Disney mempercayakan Ariana Grande dan John Legend untuk menyanyikan lagu ikonik tersebut. Beginilah alunan musiknya:

Penulis merasa "Beauty and the Beast" yang dinyanyikan Ariana dan John... So-so-lah... They did a decent job, but the one from Peabo and Celine was much, much better. "Beauty and the Beast" oleh Ariana dan John kurang "pukulan emosi" seperti yang ada di milik Peabo dan Celine. Penulis tidak mendapatkannya sama sekali ketika mendengarkan milik Ariana dan John.
"Part of Your World" yang lahir 30 tahun lalu masih belum bisa dibilang ketinggalan gaya. Lagu ini adalah lagu tema film animasi The Little Mermaid yang mengalun untuk mengiringi adegan Ariel (CV: Jodi Benson) mengitari gua miliknya yang diisi barang manusia. Ariel menginginkan memiliki kaki manusia dan menghabiskan sisa waktunya di daratan daripada di lautan. Ursula yang mengetahui keinginan rahasia Ariel tersebut, menawarinya mantra yang bisa mengubah Ariel menjadi manusia tapi, sebagai pertukaran, Ursula ingin Ariel menyerahkan pita suara merdunya. Walaupun pendengar dan penonton bersimpati pada Ariel karena menerima larangan untuk dekat dengan manusia, pendengar dan penonton bisa memahami mengapa teman laut Ariel iri dengan suara merdunya. "Part of Your World" salah satu bukti Ariel memiliki suara merdu:

"Let It Go" merupakan lagu yang menceritakan pergumulan Elsa dengan kekuatan pengendali es yang dimilikinya dan upayanya untuk tetap menyembunyikan kekuatan pengendalian tersebut dari banyak orang sampai pada satu titik dimana Elsa membebaskannya tanpa rasa takut. Terserah pendengar untuk menilai "Let It Go" dicintai atau dibenci. Satu hal yang jelas adalah lagu ini mengalun, orang tidak menahan diri untuk menyenandungkannya.
"Let It Go" masih belum genap sepuluh tahun tapi, sudah bisa mengukuhkan posisinya untuk masuk ke dalam jajaran lagu klasik Walt Disney. Hal ini terbantu dengan dukungan dari para penggemar lama Walt Disney dan penonton muda yang menonton Frozen dan membeli resmi album OST-nya. Membuktikan kepada kita bahwa kekuatan es benar-benar nyata.
Frozen II yang akan rilis pada November tahun ini bisa sangat yakin medium untuk menghibur anak, keponakan yang masih kecil, sepupu yang masih kecil, dan murid TK & SD dengan lagu Elsa yang baru dari Frozen II... dan menyanyikannya berulang-ulang tanpa henti... ...sampai telinga tidak tahan lagi untuk mendengarnya... Salah satu terindah yang pernah diciptakan dan didengarkan. Lagu ini berhasil membuat mata penulis sedikit basah oleh air mata karena saking keren makna liriknya (kalau direnungkan lebih dalam).
"Colors of the Wind" merupakan lagu pengajaran Pocahontas kepada orang asing yang datang ke desanya bahwa tidak semua hal bisa dibeli dengan uang dan umat manusia memiliki tanggung jawab untuk setia respek kepada semua makhluk dan arti sesungguhnya dari alam.
Menurut penulis, lagu ini berpikir lebih maju dari zaman penciptaan awal film animasinya. Sekarang mah banyak orang terus-menerus bangun banyak gedung dan moda transportasi masal yang besar dan menakjubkan, kita lebih banyak melakukan compromise atas rahmat alam yang berikan kepada kita. Lupa memberi lagi kepada alam seperti reboisasi dan pendauran ulang. Lalu, kolonisasi juga bisa merusak alam karena buta terhadap "memperkaya negara". Terdengar menyedihkan, bukan?
